6 Great Game Sprite Resources

Was looking around the net for a couple new resources for game sprites, here is a few I just discovered :

Game Sprite Archive - This site is very well laid out. It has sprites from all the old classic games from old consoles such as the 3DO :: Arcade :: Atari 2600 :: Computer :: Dreamcast :: Game Boy :: Game Boy Advance :: GameCube :: Genesis :: Master System :: Neo*Geo :: Neo*Geo CD :: Neo*Geo Pocket :: NES :: Nintendo 64 :: Nintendo DS :: PlayStation :: PlayStation 2 :: Saturn :: Super Nintendo, plus Custom sprites. I really like this site because they split up each sprites into section of Animated and Non-Animated plus there is even some box art for some of the old console games.

This next site has sprtes for 5690 cars from GTA / GTA London sprites. Each vehicle package you download will usually have several different variations on the them (ie several different looking Abulance). It is truly unbelievable resource if you are making a car game or a GTA type game.

This next one is for more my son, he really love Pokemon, and I found this site looking for some Pokemon for him to color in or draw. Check out TCGPlayer to see over 300 Pokemon sprites.

The Spriters Resource has a very large collections of Nintendo, Sega, Capcom, Square-Enix, Konami, Namco, SNK, and more. From the looks of it, the site is updated with a bunch of news sprites almost daily.

Last one to mention is VideoGameSprites.net which boasts over 20,000 Game Sprites from NEW, SNES, PSX, PS1, GBA, PC and Online games. They also have a great section of Game related Icons for Windows.

This is really the last one, which I found coutesy of VideoGameSprites.net but it is not of Game Sprites in particular, but the Backgrounds of the game, which I found interesting. It was updated recently, but before that had not been updated in a long long time. But this is a great resource of Backgrounds, the site has over 71,000 backgrounds from 161 different games. A couple of the categories in the menu are Nintendo, Super Nintendo, Sega Genesis, Gameboy Advanced and Playstation, you will also find a huge section with Final Fantasy Tactics Sprites and Textures.
